Sources of fructose in diet include honey, sucrose (cane sugar) and high-fructose corn syrup, an inexpensive liquid sweetener. Made from cornstarch, the liquid syrup is widely used as a sweetener and added as a preservative to processed foods, including soft drinks, condiments, applesauce and baby food.
